Worldwide, NNZ has grown into an organization with more than 260 employees spread across 24 branches in 18 countries. For our North America operations, we are currently looking for a motivated Purchasing professional to join our team.

Job Description

NNZ is looking for a Purchasing Manager (FT) to help with establishing and managing a new purchasing department in Canada. In this pivotal role, you will take charge of coordinating closely with our existing purchasing team in the United States, while supporting the Canadian sales team and independently spearheading all purchasing activities across various product groups. From sourcing products from NNZ’s globally approved vendors to ensuring seamless logistics coordination together with our Logistics Manager and maintaining accurate data in our ERP system, your expertise will be instrumental in driving efficiency and success.

Location: Surrey, BC, Canada or Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage a new purchasing department in Canada, coordinating closely with the existing purchasing team in the United States
  • Support the sales team by sourcing products from globally approved vendors
  • Oversee the logistics in collaboration with logistics to ensure deliveries are expedited in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain accurate data in our ERP system, ensuring all product information are up-to-date.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a purchasing management or similar, preferably within the packaging or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to ensure optimal vendor selection.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with sales and logistics teams.

Job Specifications

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with NNZ’s global policies.
  • Regularly review and optimize supplier base to ensure compliance with quality standards and cost efficiency.
  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate with sales and finance to forecast demand and ensure supply stability.
  • Conduct regular meetings with key stakeholders to discuss updates, challenges, and strategize on improvements.
  • Provide training and support to the purchasing team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
